Celebrating International Children’s Day with Creativity and Purpose

The Andrey and Julia Dashin Foundation celebrated International Children’s Day with an event at Limassol Municipal University Library, hosted by the Little Odysseus in collaboration with the Limassol Municipality.

The event was made possible through the joint support of the Andrey & Julia Dashin Foundation and the Commissioner for Children’s Rights. Held in the presence of Mrs. Despo Michaelidou-Livaniou, the event underscored the importance of safeguarding the rights and well-being of children in Cyprus. These are the values that Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation has stood for from the very beginning.

The occasion brought together children from diverse backgrounds, including those from the special education units, and offered a rich and meaningful experience designed to empower, educate, and inspire everyone who attended.

Guest writers from Greece were welcomed to present their books alongside students from the special education unit, creating a space in which every voice could be heard. Children engaged in a variety of themed activities, including emotional intelligence workshops, awareness sessions on domestic violence, sensory play, interactive games, music, and art workshops. These activities were carefully curated to promote creativity and emotional awareness.

“This event was more than a celebration,” noted the Head of Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation, Nataliya Ryaba. “It was a powerful reminder that every child deserves to be seen, heard, valued, and free to express themselves, and that their dreams need our unwavering support”.

The Foundation extended its gratitude to all participants, volunteers, educators, and families for their contributions to making this celebration a meaningful experience for everyone involved.
