Successful conclusion of the first Foundation Film Festival by the Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation

4,000 EUR donated to the Cyprus Anticancer Society

The first Foundation Film Festival, called “La-Dee-Dah Nights”, and organised by the Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation, came to a successful conclusion. Throughout the festival, the audience had the opportunity to get together and enjoy old movies from Russian, English and Greek cinema with a live music programme by local artists, all set in a romantic ambiance under the stars and against the magical backdrop of Limassol’s glistening sea.

The aim of the festival was to promote multiculturalism in Cyprus, while at the same time supporting the Cyprus Anticancer Society’s Evagorion Palliative Day Care Centre in Limassol. The funds raised from sales of the exotic cocktails, snacks and drinks but also from the donation boxes in the event area, reached a total of 4,000 EUR.

The event was organised under the auspices of the First Lady, Mrs. Andri Anastasiades, who joined the organisers on the last day of the festival to enjoy the unforgettable Melina Merkouri in “Never on Sunday”. In her address, Ms Anastasades congratulated the Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation for their multifaceted offering. “This festival in particular is a practical offering to society, to our culture, and to humanity above all and it communicates a clear message for the acceptance of cultural differences. I am sure that there will be many other fundraising events, all in support of those in need and society in general”.

In his speech Andrey Dashin, one of the founders of the Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation, thanked everyone for their presence and encouraged them to support the Cyprus Anticancer Society through a kind donation. Mr. Dashin reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to give back to Cypriot society and support those in need.

The president of the Cyprus Anticancer Society, Dr. Adamos Adamou, thanked the Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation for their support over the last two years and for this initiative, which not only benefited the Anticancer Society but also enriched the cultural life of Limassol. Dr. Adamou explained the Cyprus Anticancer Society’s aim to transform the Evarogion Palliative Day Care Center into a full Care Center where cancer patients from Limassol and Paphos can be treated on a 24-hour basis, similar to the Arodafnousa Centre in Nicosia.
