Let’s Do It Mediterranean…This is it!
The event commenced today, on a beautiful Saturday morning, where by dozens of people of various ages have joined to clean the island’s coast line!
Our Foundation has visited one of the beaches in Limassol to cheer up the mighty volunteers in this cool environmental endeavor as they set off for the “Let’s Do It Mediterranean” campaign. The office of the Commissioner for the Environment, together with the Commissioner herself Mrs Ioanna Panayiotou, have officially opened the campaign and welcomed members of the media, volunteers and the Mayor of Limassol, Mr Andreas Christou, who have also joined to congratulate and encourage the team.
It was an exciting scene to see pupils and their parents, students and other officials join together to take a stand for their beloved island beaches and take the initiative to participate. And above all, the scene became even more epic and inspiring when the red suit divers have broken into the placid morning waters in a joint action to clear the coastline from pollution even underwater.
The day has begun… Stay tuned for more on Let’s Do It Cyprus facebook, and look for the official press release of the Office of the Commissioner for the Environment on our News page!
