Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation Supports Miniature Horse Therapy Organization ‘MAJESTIC’
On 6 July, Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation was a proud gold sponsor of the charity event ‘Cooperation for a Smile’, held by Makarios hospital and the MAJESTIC organization at the Agios Demetrios Park in Nicosia. The purpose of the event was to introduce ‘Mini’ – a little horse who will visit children in Makarios hospital to give them courage, strength and hope.
‘Cooperation for a Smile’ was attended by the directors of Makarios hospital, and a number of families. The guests enjoyed delicious food, drinks and children’s activities in order to raise money for Mini’s expenses at the hospital.
Miniature horses are used to partner psychologists and nursing staff at meetings with the patients. The program is ideal for children with additional needs, cancer and rare diseases, behavioral disorders, psychiatric problems, children who have suffered abuse, children with neurological problems, and many more.
Founder Andrey Dashin noted:
“Miniature horse therapy is very popular nowadays around the world. The positive effect of these unique mini horses on patients with various diseases has repeatedly been proven by many scientific studies. We are happy and proud to support the MAJESTIC organization, which is bringing this state-of-the-art therapy to Cyprus for the first time with the full approval of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education. I hope that this little horse will give a lot of happiness and joy to the children and their parents.”
The non-governmental, non-profit organization MAJESTIC was established in Cyprus to offer children with disabilities and mental health problems ‘horse healing’ services or equine-assisted therapy. Trained miniature horses will enter hospital units, special schools and nursing homes to bring some magic to the patients’ lives.
