I was born on July 8, 1975 in Kazan, Tatarstan. After graduation from high school, I simultaneously enrolled for two separate degrees (pedagogical and economic) in two different Kazan Universities. After weighing all options, I chose to specialize in Banking, successfully graduating from the Finance and Credit faculty of Kazan’s Federal University.
While studying, I was invited to work in a foreign exchange department of a large regional bank. A few years later, in 1997, I moved to the position of chief accountant in a local branch of a major oil company. During the Russian financial crisis in 1998 and the subsequent collapse of traditional financial models, I drew my attention to the forex market, which was actively taking off in Russia at the time. Soon after that, I started to lead Alpari, a company which in a short span of time became the principal forex broker in Russia.
Alpari has received prestigious national awards such as “Financial Elite of Russia” and “Financial Pearl of Russia”, back to back every year since 2005. Today, Alpari is a global financial brand which serves over 1 million customers from more than 150 countries and is recognized globally. The average annual turnover of the Alpari brand exceeds $1 trillion.
In, 2011, I established ForexTime Limited (FXTM). Using innovative technologies and products, FXTM quickly gained recognition and has been continuously acknowledged by multiple awarding bodies such as the European Magazine Awards, which named the company the “Forex Broker Firm of the Year” in Europe for 2017.
Charity is very dear to me and takes up a lot of my time. I am very proud to say that the Alpari Charitable Fund, which was established in 2005, provided targeted assistance in excess of 50 million rubles to more than 4,000 low-income families, as well as to children from social institutions and children with disabilities. I was honoured by the former President of Tatarstan, Mr. Mintimir Shaimiev, for my contribution to the construction of the first “Children’s hospice” in Kazan. Furthermore, in 2011, I restored the Church of Gurias of Kazan in the Laishevsky district of Tatarstan, and was also awarded a medal for this.
When I re-located with my family in Cyprus, I founded Andrey and Julia Dashin’s Foundation with my wife in order to support charitable initiatives in Cyprus and give back to all aspects of the Cypriot community – environment, culture, health, and sports, with an emphasis on children.
My wife Julia and I have three beautiful children. In my spare time, I especially enjoy boxing, running and hiking. In the spring of 2017, I even completed my first half marathon race.
I strongly believe that success comes from hard work and the ability to draw from life experiences to achieve goals. My philosophy is that character is built upon the molding of one’s personality on a daily basis and that we are all works of progress.
