Dashin’s Foundation supports bee population restoration
In our world, everything is interconnected, and the well-being of people largely depends on the state of the environment. We are aware of the value of trees and the essence of clean water, and we genuinely care about preserving wildlife populations. However, we sometimes forget that insects also play a crucial role. Bees, for instance, are indispensable to farmers, as these tiny creatures are the primary pollinators of plants.
To support the restoration of local ecosystems devastated by the 2021 fires, Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation has taken part in a vital initiative aimed at rejuvenating bee populations in affected regions. Together with founder Andrey Dashin, our Exinity team embarked on an inspiring visit to the “Oros Mahaira” honey farm, an experience masterfully organized by ECOmbare, a leader in designing corporate social responsibility (CSR) events that highlight Cypriot culture, ecology, and community integration.
The event was centred around constructing beehives to create a “bee hotel,” an innovative solution to aid in recovering bee populations in fire-ravaged areas. These specially crafted bee hotels will serve as safe havens for bees, helping to restore local biodiversity and revitalize the ecosystem.
Under the expert guidance of local beekeepers, participants were given an in-depth look into the world of bees, learning about their crucial role in pollination and environmental balance. Donning protective gear, attendees had the opportunity to explore active beehives, gaining a rare and insightful glimpse into the inner workings of these essential pollinators. The educational session was followed by a visit to the apitherapy house and a comprehensive tour of the honey-bottling facilities, allowing participants to witness the honey production process firsthand and taste freshly harvested honey.
As part of the initiative, children played an active role by building small hives to be placed in nearby villages, reinforcing a community-wide commitment to protecting and nurturing local bee populations. This hands-on experience fostered an appreciation for the bees’ ecological importance and highlighted the power of collective efforts in restoring natural harmony.
“This initiative represents a significant step toward healing our local environment,” said Andrey Dashin. “It was both an educational and humbling experience to witness the positive impact we can have through collaboration and a shared sense of responsibility for the environment. Our Foundation is committed to supporting sustainable and eco-friendly projects that contribute to environmental conservation and community welfare.”
