4th Open Children’s Chess Tournament
The 4th Open Children’s Chess Tournament, in cooperation with the Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation, shall take place on Sunday, 19 October 2014, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The event shall be held at the Westminster ballroom and is due to start at 09:00am, followed by a prestigious award ceremony.
Following successful practice, the competition is governed by the rules of FIDE, in cooperation with the Cyprus Chess Federation. The FIDE referee and coach Mr. Vasilis Aristotelous will be acting as chief referee of the tournament.
Children of various age groups are welcome to participate in the event to showcase their skills in mastering the strategic game of Chess and win attractive prizes!
Competitions will be held according to the following age groups:
- U8 (under 8 y.o.): born in 2006 and younger;
- U10 (under 10 y.o.): born in 2004, 2005;
- U12 (under 12 y.o.): born in 2002, 2003;
- U14 (under 14 y.o.): born in 2000, 2001;
- U18 (under 18 y.o.): born in 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999.
All tournament participants will receive certificates while 2nd and 3rd place winners will be awarded with medals and gifts and 1st place winners with cups, medals and prizes!
