Give Your Hand to Autism!

On the 26th of June, 2015, the Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation received a gratitude certificate from the Pancyprian Volunteerism Coordinative Council (ΠΣΣΕ) for its contribution and support offered to various volunteering organizations.

The Foundation was nominated by the Cyprus Autism Association in the category ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ for its contribution towards the awareness campaign of the institution for promoting autism awareness in Cyprus.

Since its inception last May, the Foundation supported the Cyprus Autism Association and has offered to support the printing expenses for the Association’s promo-material and awareness leaflets.

Autism is quite an ongoing issue on the island, but little do we know about its presence or the available professional help that exists. At the Foundation we believe that actual direct help is only half of the story to be told – education and public awareness is the key to unlocking and solving the real issues. This is why raising awareness is so important.

With the support offered by the Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation, the Cyprus Autism Association was able to order and print pull-up banners, branded pens and folders, educational and informative leaflets about autism and its problems, in order to promote its activities to the public and be able to help more families, which have come face-to-face with the problem.

The Foundation has also received a beautiful present from the Association – a handmade wall key hanger, made by the Limassol Intervention Center students. It takes a great deal for the autistic students and their teachers to create such a useful home accessory. This is an invaluable gift and we are very glad to have received this present!
