Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation sponsors a night of fun and play for 16 unaccompanied girls
On the 20th of July, Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation hosted an outing with 16 girls who are under the protection of the Cyprus Social Welfare Department and the EU’s program of unaccompanied minor refugees. It was a fun night out in the city centre.
The project came after the Foundation’s proposal to the District Officers responsible for the Family and Child Units of the Social Welfare Services in Cyprus, after the assertion of the need for recreation and fun of these 16 girls, as their lives have been deeply affected by the refugee crises in the Mediterranean.
Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation responded with great pleasure sponsoring a night of fun and play where the girls had a chance to go bowling, stroll along the beautiful Мolos area in Limassol at night, and eat pizza by the sea.
Founder Julia Dashina stated: “It is a privilege and an honour to be able to provide children with fewer opportunities in life the chance to experience a sense of normalcy through simple acts of sponsoring bowling and a dinner of the children’s choice. It does not cost a lot of money nor time, but this simple act can make a tremendous difference to the lives of these girls. I can only wish that others can lead by example.”
This is the second time this year that the Foundation has helped unaccompanied minor refugees, sponsoring fun excursions and field trips across the island of Cyprus.
