Honoring WW2 veterans on May 9 with the Russian Cultural Centre
For the second year in a row, Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation supported WW2 veterans by joining forces with the Russian Cultural Centre in Nicosia (Rossotrudnichestvo). This year, the Foundation offered supermarket gift vouchers for 13 veterans living on the island.
Andrey Dashin commented on this cooperation:
“May 9, 2020 marked the 75th year since end of World War II. This was an inspiring triumph and we should remember our heroes and their gift of peace and freedom. We decided to support WW2 veterans in Cyprus during this difficult time of COVID-19 restrictions and measures, by giving them supermarket vouchers. We hope that this small gift can brighten up their days in isolation. I would like to wish all veterans health, prosperity and long life!”
The Russian Cultural Centre in Nicosia was established in 1978. The Center’s main tasks are to promote bilateral cultural, humanitarian and scientific cooperation between the Republic of Cyprus and Russia, as well as to popularize Russian culture and the Russian language on the island.
