Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation Youth Race was made extra meaningful this year
On the weekend of March 18 and 19, the 15th OPAP Limassol Marathon took place. Thousands of runners painted the coastal road of Limassol in every imaginable colour, full of smiles and good energy.
Despite unfavourable weather conditions and the rain, on Saturday, March 18, our unstoppable Exinity Team joined 192 teams at the Primetel 5km Corporate Race. With their armour on – our branded raincoats, nothing could prevent our invincible runners from successfully completing the race.
Following the Primetel 5km Corporate Race, the Limassol Coastal Park flooded with the smiles of children at the Andrey & Julia Dashin Foundation Youth Race. More than five hundred children showed up, ready to tackle the course and make a splash. Our founder Ms. Julia Dashina and the First Lady of the Republic of Cyprus, Ms. Philippa Karsera, gave a starting fire shot to the youngsters.
Ms. Julia Dashina emphasized that “this is the sixth consecutive year that the Dashin Foundation sponsors the Youth Race of the OPAP Limassol Marathon. We feel more connected with the event and the unique experience it provides to our young runners every time. They share it through running together and gaining more strength – physical and mental. We are delighted to watch them experience the joy of participating in this sporting event!”.
This year, as part of the Foundation’s commitment to inclusivity, Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation Youth Race was made extra meaningful because the course was made accessible to all children, regardless of physical needs or abilities. We were thrilled that our students from the special units took part in the race. And we are incredibly thankful to the organizers of the Limassol Marathon for their help in making this happen and to our innovative education expert Angela Chalkiopoulou for her caring support to children and parents.
Personal records aren’t just about minutes and seconds. They’re about doing more than you thought was possible.
See you next year!
