Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation Supports Fundraising Concert for a Great Cause

Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation was glad to sponsor the fundraising opera concert ‘City under the Stars’, organized by the TELETHON Office of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics.

The concert took place on 12 June at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia and was held under the auspices of His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, and the First Lady, Mrs. Andri Anastasiades, Honorary Patron of the Cyprus institute of Neurology & Genetics (CING).

Performers included the famous Greek tenor Demetris Nalpantis from the National Opera of Greece, Russian soloists Ester Ustaeva (soprano) and Tatiana Kokovara (mezzo soprano).   The performers were accompanied by the Commandaria Orchestra conducted by Francis Guy and the well -known pianist Tatiana Stupak.

The evening gathered more than 200 guests and started with cocktails and speeches from the Director of the CING, the President of CING and the President of the Republic of Cyprus. It is also important to note that all proceeds from the tickets went towards TELETHON to financially support the patients of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the scientific research programs of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics.

Founder Andrey Dashin noted that:

“It was a great opportunity to enjoy some opera in the beautiful gardens of the Presidential Palace, and at the same time to support patients of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the scientific research programs of CING. We believe that fundraising events like “City under the Stars” can make a big difference for those in need through listening to beautiful music and exploring multinational cultures. I hope that the number of such events in Cyprus will continue to grow in the coming years.”

The Cyprus Institute of Neurology & Genetics is an internationally recognized Centre of Excellence offering specialised services, translational research and postgraduate education in the fields of neurology, genetics, biomedical and medical sciences. The Institute was established in 1990.
