Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation is proud to announce its sponsorship of Cultural Crossroads Summer Academy, a Classical Music Festival featuring concerts and Master Classes for violin, viola, cello and piano in the vibrant atmosphere of Limassol with internationally renowned instructors.

The program, in collaboration with the Limassol Municipality, began this year on 9 July with an opening concert by the Professors at Lanitio Lyceum. From 10 to 15 July, students were able to attend individual lessons and rehearsals. The final concert was held at the Old Port on 16 July, where students and teachers joined to play together.

Violinist and Artistic Director of Cultural Crossroads Summer Academy, Wolfgang Schröder, commented:

“I would like to say that the support from Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation is absolutely essential and we are extremely grateful for its contribution. Without their help we could not pull this off. Also it is important to say that Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation are giving great support to the musical education in Cyprus.”

Founder Andrey Dashin commented:

“Cultural Crossroads Summer Academy is an amazing opportunity for students, especially Cypriots, to study with international professors, and exchange ideas and experiences with their peers from abroad. Music is a universal language that joins people who come from different cultures, values and traditions. Music surrounds us in our everyday lives and it’s very important to promote good music and help young talented musicians across the island.”

The Academy is held for the fourth consecutive year with the aim to bring together young, enthusiastic students with internationally acclaimed artist, who not only teach them individual lessons, but also play together in different concerts. This year, the instructors are Ásdís Valdimarsdóttir, Professor at the Music Academy Den Hague for viola in the Netherlands, Ramón Jaffe from the Music Academy in Dresden for cello, as well as Andreas Frölich, Professor at the Musikhochschule Köln for piano. The violin class will be taught by Wolfgang Schröder, Concertmaster of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra.
