Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation donates to Municipality’s Food Bank to support families in need

On July 1, 2020 I met with the Mayor of Limassol, Mr. Nicos Nicolaides, to personally deliver the cheque on behalf of our Foundation towards the needs of the Food Bank’s social program that supports low-income families.

The Food Bank operation is based on the work of volunteers and is further supported by various organizations and voluntary associations of the city. It provides social assistance and grocery support for more than 150 families per month. Every three weeks, families that could not secure the essentials for their household, either due to financial hardship or low income, receives a package full of product, as well as children’s goods in case the family has children.

The official meeting was also attended by the Chairperson of the Municipality’s Social Welfare Committee, Athena Spyrou, who noted the importance of joint efforts particularly during a pandemic and in post-pandemic times.

Mr. Nicolaides expressed gratitude by saying: “I am deeply thankful to Andrey and Julia Dashin’s Foundation for their many years of fruitful cooperation with the Municipality, responsiveness and concern for the needs of underprivileged families, as well as for supporting the community’s social initiatives. I sincerely hope for further joint participation in the noble cause of social assistance to the population”.

I am very glad that the support of the Foundation reaches those most in need. And I believe that much more can be done if you are personally involved in charity activities. With that in mind, in the near future, the Foundation is going to implement several social projects in which the company’s employees, as well as my family, will be taking part.
