Official presentation of the innovative program ‘Alice Discovers’
Every child has the right to the same opportunities as others, regardless of their difficulties. Special education is of great importance for children with learning disabilities because it allows them to get quality education in line with their needs, enabling every student to gain independence and reach their potential. To give children the ultimate learning experience in an inclusive learning environment, Dashin’s Foundation partnered with Little Odysseus to launch a pioneering program for children with additional needs, which has been successfully implemented and running in the special units of two public schools since September 2021.
On October 2, with the founders Andrey and Julia Dashin and program creator Angela Chalkiopoulou, an official presentation of the innovative program ‘Alice Discovers’ was hosted at the Limassol Municipal University Library.
The event was honoured with the presence of the First Lady of the Republic of Cyprus, Mrs. Andri Anastasiades, the Mayor of Limassol, Mr. Nicos Nicolaides with his family and the Mayor of Agios Athanasios, Mr. Marinos Kyriakou. Among our wonderful guests, we were incredibly happy to welcome our beloved students from special units and their parents from last year’s program, who joined us in celebrating the program’s start for the new school year.
We presented with great joy and pride on our achievements and the children’s progress after completing a yearly program. We also touched on awards, which we will happily soon announce, displayed new educational toolboxes and materials, shared on upcoming projects and events, and introduced our loving and caring teachers, Belina Louvrou, Stelios Michaelides, Chrystalla Louka and Magda Makridou. They joined to strengthen our team so that we could expand the program to special units of other schools.
“We are wholeheartedly committed to doing everything we can to have a lasting impact on the lives of children with additional needs. Celebrating their achievements and witnessing their progress is such joy, and we look forward to a happy and fulfilling life for them all,” shared Andrey and Julia Dashin.
We are thankful for the ability to host our events and run our programs at the beautiful premises of the library, which has already become our place of strength and inspiration. We greatly appreciate the constant support of the Limassol Municipality, Georgia Kontolemi and library employees for all their efforts in making it possible for us to continue to empower and inspire our little heroes and heroines.
