Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation sponsors children’s theatre play as part of the KYPRIA2018 Festival
Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation announces its sponsorship of a children’s play called Ntenekedoupoli (“Tin City”) as part of the acclaimed KΥPRIA Festival, which will take place across all the major cities in Cyprus. KYPRIA international Festival has developed a reputation as the island’s leading cultural event, organized by the Ministry of Culture. The festival brings to Cyprus some of the world’s most prominent artists in the fields of music, dance and performance art, with all tickets available at low prices.
Ntenekedoupoli is a well-known theatre play that was first staged in 1975 in Greece by acclaimed writer Evgenia Fakinou. This new rendition of the play with live music and singing is directed and produced by Irene Andronikou.
Irene Andronikou says that Ntenekedoupoli is a revolutionary story with a deep cultural and political message. The story of the empty, rusty old cans who try to build their own community to live in peace, is a story that employs humor and imagination, but also sends great messages regarding the environment and the place we should strive to live in.
Founder, Julia Dashina, added her thoughts about the sponsorship, stating:
“This play is one of two children’s plays that got selected to participate in KYPRIA, and we are very pleased to sponsor this theatre group, which consists of young people with a vision. Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation will continue its active support for the arts and culture in Cyprus, especially when it comes to inspiring and cultivating the young generation of the island”.
The play is aimed at adults and children from 4 years and above, and will take place in the last week of September:
25/09/2018, 18.00 > Rialto Theatre Limassol
26/09/2018, 18.00 > Larnaca Municipality Theatre
