Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation joins forces with the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society for a fundraising concert
Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation was proud to be a platinum sponsor of “Fighting Cancer with Music”, a free fundraising concert which took place on 15 September at Limassol’s Marina square. This inspirational event is in its third year supporting the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, who provide palliative care services at no cost to cancer patients and their families.
In addition to the six hours of live music, “Fighting Cancer with Music” offered a great variety of children’s activities including face painting, fairy house decoration, hair braiding, prize wheels and sand art bottles.
Visitors were encouraged to support this charity by buying handcrafted items at the market. With jewellery, wooden crafts, soaps, candles, beeswax cosmetics, glass creations, lucky charms, books and educational toys to choose from, there was something to tempt everyone.
Founder Andrey Dashin commented:
“According to the latest research, there were an estimated 18 million cancer diagnoses around the world in 2018. In light of these growing global figures, it is very important to not only help people affected by cancer but also to inform the wider public about cancer prevention and early detection, diagnosis, treatment and relief. “Fighting Cancer with Music” attendees were able to enjoy live music, and at the same time support cancer patients. Music is a universal language, and we are so proud to sponsor such a good cause!”
Mrs. Maria Ioannidou, Executive Director of the Cyprus Anticancer Society stated:
“We are deeply honored with the support we have received from Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation. By supporting our event as a ‘Platinum Sponsor’, the Foundation gave us the chance to host a great event which was enjoyed by hundreds of people and, consequently, helped us raise awareness on our Society’s cause, while raising funds for our Palliative Care programs. The Cyprus Anticancer Society provides Palliative Care for all cancer patients in Cyprus despite their ethnicity, religion or socioeconomic status, free-of-charge. This is why we are deeply grateful when we have supporters like Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation and we hope that we will have the opportunity to collaborate again in the future.”
A special mention must go to the supporting restaurants and cafes at Limassol Marina who participated by donating €1 from every bill to the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society.
