Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation campaign for those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic
As part of its campaign for those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic, Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation is supporting two amazing initiatives organised by Cyprus Red Cross Limassol Branch and Friendship Circle.
Cyprus Red Cross Limassol Branch are preparing packages filled with food, necessities and goods, as well as medicines, for families in need in Limassol. The packages will be given to around 1,000 families in a difficult situation.
Friendship Circle provides food and supplies to people in need. Every day around 20 volunteers deliver healthy meals all over the island.
Andrey Dashin noted:
“In these difficult times, it is very important to remember about individuals and families who are struggling with isolation and can’t leave their houses to buy necessary products and food. Cyprus Red Cross Limassol Branch and Friendship Circle have been very active during this time, providing support to people in need in Cyprus. Our donation allows Red Cross to buy vouchers from supermarkets, baby food and medicines. For Friendship Circle we covered food expenses that should allow for daily cooking and delivery of healthy meals to continue into the foreseeable future. We will carry on supporting all those in need and I hope that others will follow our example.”
Friendship Circle was founded in Cyprus in 2008. Since then, the organisation has been providing assistance and support to the families and children with special needs. In addition to helping those in need, Friendship Circle empowers and enriches its network of volunteers, the majority of whom are teenagers, by enabling them to reap the vast rewards of giving for themselves. Friendship Circle consists of five parts – volunteers, children, parents, staff, and supporters. The true beauty of the Circle is how all of the elements link together to form a seamless community of friendship.
The Limassol Branch of the Cyprus Red Cross Society (C.R.C.S.) was founded in 1950. Its first President was Mrs Lella Cacoyianni. She was succeeded by Amarandi Shitta, Ino Zachariades, Evangelitsa Marcoulli, Stathoula Sykopetriti and Niki Hadjitsangari. The Limassol Branch has been very active all these years. Since 2012, the Branch is housed at its own premises situated at 119 Ayias Phylaxeos street, offering foodstuffs, clothing and footwear items, baby food, toys, and above all, much needed moral support and love
