Supporting children living at the ‘Hope for Children’ shelters

As an annual celebration that occurs every 1st June, International Children’s Day promotes the rights and well-being of children, and appreciates children’s roles in shaping the future of different communities across the world. On this wonderful day, Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation supported children living at the ‘Hope for Children’ shelters by covering all clothing expenses (slippers, undergarments, PJs, tops, bottoms etc.).

Julia Dashina highlighted the importance of International Children’s Day by saying:

“’Hope for Children’ provides many programs for the well-being of children. Currently, the organization’s most urgent needs are related to the ‘Homes for Hope’ – shelters for the accommodation and support of unaccompanied children. Every single child is a blessing, for they bring out the happiness in this world. As a mother of three, I know exactly that all children need care, support, attention, protection and love. We are so glad to be able to help the children living at the ‘Homes for Hope’ on this important International Children’s Day. At the Foundation, we believe that there is nothing more important than a child’s smile.”

The ‘Hope for Children’ CRC Policy Center is an international humanitarian and independent Institution based in Nicosia, Cyprus. The Institution is established on standards and principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and European Union Law. It works on humanitarian and development policy relevant to the defense and promotion of children’s rights. It does so through research, grassroots program design and implementation and advisory services offered to governments and international organizations.

The ‘Hope for Children’ has one shelter in Nicosia and currently they have expanded two more shelters in Larnaca in which they provide accommodation and support to a total of 100 children.
