The 8th Cyprus-Russia Gala – A Great Success!

The 8th Cyprus-Russia Charity Gala was held on the September 13th 2014 for the 8th consecutive year, in the Presidential Palace Gardens.
This year’s event was held under the high patronage of The First Lady of Cyprus, Mrs. Andri Anastasiades, and in cooperation with the Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation as partner to the event.

6Andrey Dashin and Julia Dashina, founders of the Foundation, have personally attended the event to show their support as partners to this charitable endeavor, but also as persons sharing passion for both the Russian and the Cyprus cultures.

“The Cyprus-Russia Gala is a significant cultural event, which allows the Cyprus and Russian communities to come closer together, gain a better understanding of one another and of course make new friends and partners. It is important that this alliance between our countries is kept active for mutual progress and development, especially in fields such as charity, community and social work,” said Andrey.

10Proceeds from ticket sale for the event have been raised for the Radiomarathon Foundation for Children with Special Needs, an institution that the Cyprus-Russia Charity Gala has supported from its very first year.

“The Gala aims to support a wonderful cause by fundraising for charity, which has always been an integral part of our lives. Being here tonight and supporting such a virtuous endeavor in Cyprus, where both the Cyprus and Russian communities unite for a common cause, is truly delightful,” admitted Julia Dashina.

The Gala Concert comprised of a rich and luscious programme with Top Talent performances including the renowned violinist Dmitri Kogan from the legendary Russian musical dynasty, the distinguished singer Tamara Gverdtsiteli known as the ‘Russian Piaf’, the charismatic virtuoso instrumental group Bis-Quit from St. Petersburg and the Greek operatic sensation Marios Frangoulis accompanied by the astounding pianist and composer Stefanos Korkolis.

Overall, the event came out to be a great success both in terms of diplomatic relations and charity!
