Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation – Honorary Benefactor of the 10th anniversary Cypriot-Russian festival

Between the 6 and 7 of June, 2015, the Limassol Municipal Park has once again welcomed the Cyprus-Russian Festival.

This year, the Festival celebrated its 10th anniversary – a decade of successful events and friendship between Cyprus and Russia. I am glad to support the Cyprus-Russian Festival, which encourages multicultural tolerance and awareness, enhances local social life, and facilitates communication by bringing so many thousands of people together. Last year our Foundation has decided to support the Festival for the first time to promote fundraising activities and wake up a sense of giving in every guest.

During the last celebration in 2014, Julia and I offered a donation to the Cyprus Foster Family Association. Having become the Honorary Benefactor of the 10th Cyprus-Russian Festival this year, we were able to organize numerous charity activities to shine new light on entertainment for the whole family that goes hand-in-hand with generosity. During the official opening ceremony of the Cyprus-Russian Festival, in the presence of President Anastasiades, and the First Lady, Mrs Andri Anastasiades, I presented a €5000 donation to the Children Therapy Centre “Stella Soulioti” of the Cyprus Red Cross Society, for further development of the care center for children with disabilities. I attended the opening ceremony with my eldest daughter, Alexandra, who, from an early age, shares mine and Julia’s passion for philanthropy and support of the needy.

In addition, our Foundation organized a number of pioneering and innovative educational activities, as well as children’s attractions, for charitable fundraising for the Miranda programme of the Dancing Queen Foundation, which offers free physiotherapy for children with disabilities. As a result, we decided to double the amounts raised and a substantial total contribution of €1200 was presented during the closing ceremony of the two-day event to the representatives of the selected charity. We believe that every child, regardless of social or economic status, should have the opportunity for a happy childhood and a healthy future.

This year, our Foundation received a commemorative award with thanks from the organizers of the Cyprus-Russian festival for the contribution to the organization of this important event, and the strengthening of friendship and cooperation between Russia and Cyprus.
