Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation announces new branch launch in beautiful Mauritius

On the 24th of April, amidst the historical ruins of Balaclava and the Citron River in the beautiful island of Mauritius, Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation organized an exclusive charity Gala to announce the launch of the Foundation’s branch in the region and celebrate a triple tier sponsorship in collaboration with one of the biggest international NGOs in Mauritius – the Lions Club De Riviere Noire.

The gala took place at the Château Mon Desir restaurant with more than 50 guests and was held under the auspices of the First Lady of Mauritus, Kobita Jugnauth, who also performed the official unveiling of the plaque of the new Foundation in front of Mr. and Mrs. Dashin and their guests.

During her speech, founder Julia Dashina commented that

“We have supported individuals, worked with charities and sponsored events- all with one common goal, which is to create equal opportunities for children and provide extra help for underprivileged families. Over the years, we have organized and sponsored a plethora of island-wide projects, ranging from medical, educational, to cultural, environmental and even sporting events. We have found that helping people, has helped us to become better people and inspires us to continue what we do at the foundation. I ask you all to raise your glasses and make a toast to our Foundation’s favorite motto: ‘Let’s make kindness contagious’!”

Lions Governeur, Louis Emmanuel NG of District 417 thanked the Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation by stating:

“In Mauritius, there are 400 Lions members regrouped in 12 Clubs including one in Rodrigues. We are active in the main causes of the Lions Clubs International: fight against Diabetes, our main worldwide cause, prevention and cure of blindness, fight against hunger, protection of the environment, and the fight against childhood cancer. I congratulate Mr and Mrs Dashin for their generosity and their compassion for the less fortunate children. I would also like to thank them for partnering with our Lions Club of Riviere Noire. I wish the Andrey and Julia Foundation, a fruitful presence in Mauritius and thank them for bringing hope to many under-privileged people.”

Specifically, Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation decided to donate more than 8,000 euro to support the following projects of the Lion’s Club:

  1. Equipping a kitchen to provide breakfast & lunch daily to 180 children.
  2. Providing school materials, uniforms, shoes and socks for 75 underprivileged children whose parents don’t qualify for social aid.
  3. Sponsoring free eye tests (including the purchase of spectacles) to 50 underprivileged children in order to prevent avoidable blindness and improve their quality of life.
