Supporting underprivileged children in Mauritius in collaboration with Lions Club Port Louis Doyen

On 29 October, on the beautiful island of Mauritius, Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation met with members of Lions Club Port Louis Doyen in order to provide underprivileged children with school supplies for the upcoming academic year that begins on 10 January, 2020. Part of the Foundation’s contribution will also be used to provide Christmas gifts to the children of the region.

The Foundation kindly donated a cheque worth MUR 300,000 in the presence of the President of the Lions Club Port Louis Doyen, Sydney Pierre; Region Chairperson, Rolando Bergicourt; Zone Chairperson, Gilbert Ponton; the Immediate Past President, Danen Beemadoo, and other members of the Lions Club Port Louis Doyen.

Mr. Pierre made the following statement:

“Lions Club Port Louis Doyen which exist in Mauritius since 1968 is very privileged to be associated with Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation. The contribution of MUR 300,000 to the Club will be used to support more than 100 underprivileged children with school equipment, as well as Christmas gifts for no less than 2,000 children.”

Founder Julia Dashina commented:

“As a mother of three, I understand how expensive it can be to prepare children for school. Having established our Foundation branch in Mauritius, we decided to help underprivileged children of the region by making a Back to School campaign. I hope that these children will enjoy their upcoming academic year with new shoes, clothes and some school supplies, as well as be able to celebrate Christmas Eve with some amazing gifts. It’s a pleasure for us to support such a great cause.”

As a noteworthy reminder, on 24 April, 2019, Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation has opened its branch in Mauritius and celebrated a triple tier sponsorship in collaboration with the Lions Club de Riviere Noire.

Lions Club Port Louis Doyen – one of the biggest NGOs in Mauritius – is part of Lions Club International, a service membership organization consisting of over 1.7 million members worldwide. The Lions motto is “We Serve”. Local Lions Club programs include sight conservation, hearing and speech conservation, diabetes awareness, youth outreach, international relations, environmental issues, and many other programs.
